Talk! Talk! Talk!-Talk More to Your Children and Less on Your Phones

There is a growing concern that many children are starting school unable to talk properly. Gary Larkin, president of National Association of Head Teachers says this concern has grown because many children spend too long in forward-facing buggies while their parents talk non-stop on their phones.

He adds that some parents meet their young children at their school gates and don’t actually say ‘hello’ because they are too busy talking to friends on the phones.

When children are not exposed to daily and regular conversations with mums and dads, their vital language skills are affected and does not develop at the rate that it should. This may lead to damaging consequences in the future. As we countdown to 2015, let’s get our priorities better positions. Talk more to our children and Talk less on our mobile phones.
