Smoking, Drink and Drug Use among Secondary School Pupils Is Down

Figures show that between 2003 and 2013, regular smoking fell from 9% to 3% of 11 to 15 year-olds. Regular alcohol drinking dropped from 25% to 9% and the number of pupils who said they had taken illegal drugs also halved.

The figures from the Health and Social care Information Centre is based on more than 5000 pupils in England. Pupils from 174 schools were questioned in the autumn term of 2013.
