One In Four Parents Do Their Children’s Homework for Them

According to a recent survey, parents believe that children have “too much” homework, and what they are given is “too difficult”, leading to nearly a quarter (23 per cent) completing homework with no input from their child.

In the research, the subjects which got the most helping hands were:
Science- topped the list with 46 per cent admitting they have intervened with tasks. Following just behind science is Maths at 41 per cent, history (35 per cent), English (34 per cent) and geography (29 per cent).

When we actually do the homework for our children, we are making it worse for them to actually learn and grasp the topic. There is less harm when we ask questions and get them thinking through to their answers of the questions but NOT doing the work for them.
